The Earplug

Our new project for Graphic Design is to make a newsletter. Mostly so we know how to use Quark and know how to correctly layout a newsletter. Plus this could be a really good portfolio piece. Today we had to decide what we wanted our newsletter to be on. He suggested it be something generic as the subject matter wasn't too important. I chose to do a music newsletter. I had trouble coming up with a name and one of my classmates suggested "The Earplug" which was good enough for me. We also had to start designing a masthead logo. Here is what I came up with in Illustrator:
